hosted by Alex Kern
Meet Your Host:

Alex Kern
Born in October with a natural love for all things eerie, Alex has always been drawn to the strange, the unexplained, and the chillingly true. She grew up glued to true crime documentaries and unexplained mysteries, captivated not just by the stories themselves—but by the minds and truths behind them. The motives. The patterns. The questions no one could quite answer.
As a kid, she was the designated ghost-story teller at every sleepover, weaving tales that lingered long after the lights went out. That fascination with the unknown only deepened over time. A first-generation college graduate, she went on to study behavioral sciences, the human mind—not because she wanted to fix people, but because she had to know why people do the things they do. Why the mind breaks. Why fear consumes. Why some truths stay buried.
She’s not a journalist. She doesn’t come from a family of detectives or psychics. But she does have something else—
An unshakable instinct.
A gut-level curiosity.
And a relentless pull toward the dark corners most people avoid.
Not just for the scares, but for the questions. What really happened? Why do we fear what we can’t explain?
“Darkly Speaking” was born from that obsession. She’s not just a host—she’s a fellow seeker of truth, unraveling stories that haunt us for a reason. If it’s eerie, unsolved, or twisted—she’s there. And she’s taking you with her.
When I’m Not Chasing Terrifying Tales… (LOL PUNNY)
You can usually find me curled up with a thriller novel, overthinking a horror movie ending, or planning my next trip to somewhere allegedly haunted. JK.. I normally don’t leave my house. I love autumn weather, vintage bookstores, iced coffee in every season, and anything with a good twist. I also firmly believe animals can sense ghosts—and yes, I’ll die on that hill. Moral of the story.. Everyone should own a pet.
A Few (Creepy) Things About Me…
I once told a ghost story so intense, someone actually cried. Oops.
My comfort movie? Coraline. Don’t judge me.
Favorite monster: the kind you can’t see… until it’s too late. Or El Cucoy (A Shadow Monster w/ a penchant for eating disobedient children) lol childhood trauma.
I can (and will) psychoanalyze fictional villains like it’s my job.
My version of self-care? Candles, crime docs, and investigating conspiracy theories online until 2 am. S/O to Reddit and Creepypasta.
Biggest Fear: clowns, needles and traffic. But on a spiritual level, TIME… Need I say more?
